The debtor’s name as it appears on their birth certificate is required. Should the debtor not have a middle name, it should be noted on your request form (nmn). If the debtor goes by a nickname or shortened form of name, this commonly used name may be entered as an additional debtor name to provide de facto notice only.

All motor vehicles made after 1981 have 17 digits.

Renewals are registered to extend the term of an existing PPSA registration.

Amendments are filed to add or delete collateral, however, they cannot be used to change existing general description collateral.

A re-registration allows a registration discharged in error to be re-registered if filed within 30 days.

Within 30 days of fulfillment of obligations unless the registration will expire within 30 days naturally.
